Environmental Policy
We all recognise the impact we are having on the environment and at UK4Print we want to ensure that we do our utmost to play our part.
Environmentally friendly printing
To date, we have switched to or now exclusively use:
- Alcofree non harmful isopropyl alcohol (IPA) in the printing process
- 100% vegetable oil based inks
- Purelam biodegradable laminate (from natural resources)
- Purecoat, a benign water based coating made from inert materials
- Varnishes made from natural tree resins
- Printing machines which consume half the electricity of more conventional alternatives
- Printing plates produced without the need for chemicals or waste thanks to direct to plate imaging equipment
We haven't compromised on quality to be environmentally friendly. We have invested in equipment that is both energy efficient and specifically designed to achieve better results using these processes.
We are also committed to:
- Minimising the use of print film or film processing chemicals
- Recycling 95% of press room solvents
- Recycling 94% of dry waste
- Using 100% recycled packaging boxes manufactured on site
FSC and Recycled Paper and Card
We offer full Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) or recycled papers and card and have a chain of custody (CoC) from the paper mills. By ordering print made from FSC paper or card you are supporting the growth of responsible forest management worldwide.
