However they can be converted by visiting http://convert.neevia.com. This website allows you to convert files via the internet for free. When supplying a file in this way ensure no colours are saved as spot colours and send a screen grab of the original artwork to ensure it is printed correctly. On the PC press 'PRINT SCREEN'.
Artwork Bleed
All artwork should be supplied to size with 3mm bleed and trim marks. Our templates section has downloadable templates for you to use if necessary. Bleed is not necessary when the artwork does not bleed off the page.
Artwork Colour
All files supplied should be composed of CMYK. RGB images may look good on your screen but final output to print is always in CMYK which prints a lower range of colours than those you can see on screen. Files converted from RGB to CMYK can alter the colour composition significantly.
PDF Files
Ideally all artwork supplied to UK4Print should be sent as high resolution (300dpi) pdfs with 3mm bleed and trim marks with all fonts embedded. CMYK not RGB. Please ensure that all embedded images are CMYK files please. Acrobat Distiller can be used to create a PDF, where job options must be set for commercial printing. These include default resolution, compression settings and font embedding. Please ensure you choose high resolution. Compression settings for colour and greyscale should be downsampled to 300dpi with "auto compression" set on high. Bitmapped (monochrome: i.e. line art) images should be set at 600dpi. Font embedding should be set to "embed all fonts."
Indesign
All fonts and pictures need to be supplied along with the InDesign file by collecting all the files using the package option under the 'File menu'. The folder should then be saved as a .zip file for uploading using stuffit or winzip. In addition, please supply a screen shot or pdf of the artwork to ensure nothing has moved from the original and the fonts have opened correctly.
Quark Express
All fonts and pictures need to be supplied along with the Quark Express file by collecting all the files using the 'Collect for Output' function. The folder should then be saved as a .zip file for uploading using stuffit or winzip. Colour needs to be set as CMYK not RGB (RGB artwork will be converted to CMYK this could effect your colours). All pantone/spot colours should be converted to CMYK.
Illustrator
Include all embedded images. Ensure all files are supplied with fonts created as outlines, all colours converted to CMYK and no spot/pantone colours present on the artwork. Save as EPS file.
Photoshop
All files should be saved as high resolution 300dpi CMYK jpegs or tif files with colour converted to CMYK.
Brochures
Multiple page documents should be supplied with the front page as the first page of the file and the back page as the last page of the file. Do not supply files as printers pairs or with the pages imposed. If the document is more than 4 printers pages keep all text and copy at least 5mm away from the trimmed edge to allow for "creep" when the document is folded and trimmed to size.
